Are you committed to tackling global poverty and injustice? Do you share our vision of "Just One World?' Do you have particular expertise to offer as a potential Trustee?
CAFOD, the International Development and Relief Agency of the Catholic Bishops' Conference, is seeking to recruit a small number of Trustees to its Board over the coming 18 months. Working closely with the Corporate Leadership Team, the Trustees are together responsible for the good governance of CAFOD and are accountable for the effective delivery of CAFOD's work on behalf of the Catholic community in England & Wales.
The Trustees play an important role in setting the policy and strategic direction of the organisation. They uphold CAFOD's vision of a world transformed to reflect the Kingdom of God and are committed to bring positive change in the lives of some of the world's poorest and most disadvantaged people.
Alongside possessing a good understanding of the faith dimension which underpins CAFOD's work and its relationship with the Catholic community, the Trustees bring a variety of skills and experience to exercise their combined role. The Board of Trustees meets four times per year (including one 2-day residential meeting) and all trustees are expected to give some time to CAFOD between meetings.
We are keen to receive expressions of interest from a range of people including a diverse ethnic, gender and age profile and with the following areas of expertise: Commercial (including marketing/PR/ fundraising); International Development; Development Economics; Organisational Development & HR.
